Dunbar is located in Vancouver on the west side and boarders West 41st at the South, West 16th Ave at the north, Quesnel and King Edward on the East & Discovery Street, West 27th Ave & Camosun Street at the West. Dunbar encompasses a collection of commercial and residential areas mostly made up of single-family residences. It is also the home territory of the Musqueam Indian Band.


Dunbar has three parks including Memorial West Park, Chaldercott Park & Valdez Park. Dunbar encroaches on the south part of Pacific Regional Spirit Park however, Pacific Spirit Park encroaches into the north western part of Dunbar so that should make it even.
